About this course

An engaging 4-hour online seminar that dives deep into our emotional world, exploring the interplay between emotions, the body, and the mind. Designed for anyone curious about the profound ways emotions shape us, this course blends ancient wisdom from Chinese medicine with insights from psychology, human behavior, and philosophical teachings.

Sohial Farzam takes a closer look at the 7 Emotions (Qi Qing), which are core emotional states tied to specific organs.Participants will discover how emotions like anger, joy, pensiveness, worry, sadness, fear, and fright influence our physical and mental well-being and how imbalances in these emotions can affect qi, blood flow, yin-yang harmony, and overall organ health.

Beyond the foundational 7 emotions, this course also explores the roles of guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, blame, betrayal, and even thoughts of despair, offering a comprehensive, compassionate understanding of emotional dynamics.

Course content:

  • Learn the meaning and symbolism behind each emotion from a Chinese medicine perspective.
  • Explore philosophical insights from great thinkers like Carl Jung, Freud, Adler, Plato, and Aristotle, as well as Buddhist, Confucian, and Daoist views on emotional dynamics.
  • Reference pivotal classical texts such as the Su Wen, Ling Shu, and Nan Jing.

In this course, you will gain a richer understanding of how emotions connect to your body, mind, and spirit as well as get to know actionable ways to apply this knowledge in your personal or professional life.
