About this course

Based on the insights from 50 years of clinical acupuncture practice, Hamid Montakab delves into foundational Chinese paradigms, the art of diagnosis, practitioner self-cultivation, and essential guidance for effective acupuncture therapy. You’ll explore practical tips, including the “Golden Rules” of acupuncture, to elevate your clinical practice and enhance patient satisfaction.

Objectives:

  1. Understand the basic Chinese paradigms of creation, consciousness, health, and disease, and their connections to modern Quantum physics. 
  2. Develop diagnostic skills for identifying emotional roots; interpreting painful acupuncture points, and observing breath as a diagnostic tool. 
  3. Apply principles for practitioner cultivation, including centering, intention, and protection techniques. 
  4. Learn practical approaches for treating specific populations (children, the elderly, and pregnant women) and for managing emergencies in the clinic. 
  5. Explore some specialized techniques and guidelines that support balanced, effective acupuncture treatments across diverse patient needs.

Dr. Hamid Montakab

Founder of Chiway

Hamid David Montakab M.D. graduated from Medical School of Paris, did his residency in surgery and completed a 3-year education in acupuncture. Later spending 4 months in clinical training in China, followed by 2 years in exploring the local healing in the Philippines and India. He practiced for 5 years in America after obtaining the NCCA certification and a degree in Chinese Herbalism.

In 1986 he founded Chiway Academy in Switzerland. Dr. Montakab was commissioned by the Swiss National Fond to conduct a scientific research study on Acupuncture and Insomnia. In 1995 he was the co-founder and president of the Swiss Professional Organization for TCM (SBO-TCM).
