Psychosomatics in Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture for Treating the Hidden Roots of Disease - Hybrid

In Classical Chinese medicine, the psyche and emotions are considered the roots of all diseases. Although the ancient traditions have emphasized the impact of mind-sets and emotions on the body, these notions seem to have been greatly overlooked in the modern practice. These webinars aim at providing the necessary understanding and appropriate tools for dealing with the hidden dimensions of disease.

Individual modules

Module 1: Psyche and the Body in Chinese Medicine

The Five sectors of the Psyche

This lecture explores the concepts of physical and mental health, the conscious and the subconscious and the five sectors of the psyche Shen, Hun, Po, Yi and Zhi, their functions, pathologies and treatment strategies.  The concept and formation of Gui≈ Ghost and it’s relation to psychological issues.

  • Course credit: 7 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

Module 2: Emotions and Instincts in Chinese Medicine

Managing the Five Emotions and Seven Passions

Emotions, having evolved from primary instincts, are human responses to the outer world and depend primarily on individual mind-sets. Emotions are considered the internal causes of disease in Chinese medical practice. Understanding the energetic impact of the emotions and their treatment is essential in the clinical practice.

  • Course credit: 7 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

Module 3: Constitutions and Beliefsystems in Chinese Medicine

Constitution as foundation of Belief mechanisms

The basic constitution, transmitted genetically, influences the physiology and morphology of the person, but also influences the development of a specific Temperament responsible for the formation of individual belief systems and the psycho-emotional expressions of a person. This lecture offers guides for establishing the basic constitutions and supplies therapeutic tools and strategies for harmonizing these elements.

  • Course credit: 7 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

Module 4: Temperaments and Beliefs in Chinese Medicine (double module)

The Six Archetypes and the Psyche

The habitual psycho-emotional expressions or Temperaments of a person, define their basic responses and adaptations to outer events and have a major influence on “Belief” mechanisms and further influence the physiology as well as the pathology of a person.

This lecture describes the six Temperaments, their psychological profiles and pathological tendencies and helps to choose acupuncture strategies and points adapted to the person rather than to a disease.

  • Course credit: 12 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 360.00

Module 5: Memory Systems and Psychological Trauma in Chinese Medicine

Impact and Management of Retained Traumatic Memories

An important component of the Belief mechanisms is represented by personal life experiences, in particular the traumatic events, often retained by the subconscious part of the psyche, the Hun or the Po.

These hidden programs have a major impact on the psycho-emotional expressions of the individual.

This lecture explores the memories retained in the form of words, impressions and emotions, and offers strategies for releasing them as a crucial stage in the treatment of the “Hidden Roots of Disease”.

  • Course credit: 7 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

Module 6: Body Memories and Physical Trauma in Chinese Medicine

Body Armors: Management of Retained Traumatic Memories in the Body

The body is both a source and a storage site for the emotions, especially after a trauma. Body memories contribute to the formation of mental patterns and “Belief mechanisms” and further manifest with a variety of conditions such as un-explained physical, physiological and even emotional, psychological and psychosomatic reactions.

Acupuncture strategies for releasing the “Body memories” constitute an important stage of treating the deeper Roots of Disease.

  • Course credit: 7 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

Module 7: Integration Module

Treating the Hidden Roots of Disease in Clinical Practice

This webinar aims at demonstrating how to integrate the various treatment strategies described in the previous modules, acupuncture, PAT (Psychology and Acupuncture Therapy) exercises, affirmations etc., into the daily clinical practice.

Case studies with commentaries and video clips demonstrating real patient sessions and exercises realized by Solange Montakab, complete this module.

Course credit: 5 h

Cannot be purchased individually, included in the Certification Program

Bonus: Module 8: Western Psychosomatics (DE)

  • Course credit: 4 h

  • Individual Price: CHF 210.00

«The course with Hamid was incredibly enriching. I learned so many different things about the psyche and emotions. Before this course I felt I was missing something about Chinese Medicine, because the theory says that the internal causes of diseases are the emotions, but the material about it is very little. This course gave me the chance to help patients with tools which are amazing! Thank you Hamid! »
